When I first re-connected to my disconnected session with this setting in place, I had to completely exit out of the Lync client by right-clicking the icon in my task bar. As a work-around, I was running Lync both inside my remote desktop session (for messages only) and on my desktop (for voice), which basically worked but was irritating. One irritationР’В with this approach was that I couldnРІР‚в„ўt get audio working inside my Lync client (in the remote desktop session), so I had to run Lync on my desktop as well, which meant that I wouldnРІР‚в„ўt always see what was going on in Lync since I had my remote desktop session stretched across both screens.

In Windows 8 this is a big improvement, as your monitors can be different resolutions and it supports that just as if you were at your desk. For instance, IРІР‚в„ўve been using the РІР‚СљUse all my monitorsРІР‚Сњ setting in order to stretch my remote desktop session across two screens. IРІР‚в„ўve been working from home a bit more lately, and with that, IРІР‚в„ўve been fine-tuning how I work.
